Finding Fanny and Creature 3D 2nd day box office total collections report 14.9.2014
Deepika Padukone and Arjun Kapoor
starrer "Finding Fanny" showed tremendous growth on second day,
thanks to the positive word of mouth.
The box office collection of
"Finding Fanny" improved by 40 percent on Saturday compared to
opening day.
On day one, the film minted 5.1
crore and on second day it raked in 7.05 crore, taking its overall total to 12.15 crore, according to Bollywood Hungama.
The film was released in two
versions – Hindi and English. While, the Hindi version contributed decent
amount, its English version that showed remarkable growth in its business at
multiplexes.
Despite being released in less than
1,000 screens, the film managed to take its two days total to more than 12
crore. Thanks to its star cast, trailer, songs and critics review, the film
managed to pull crowds in theaters.
It has received best response from
Mumbai, Delhi and Mysore circuits. From Mysore along the film has earned more
than 1.3 crore nett in two day, according to Box Office India.
The film is now expected to take its
opening weekend total to more than 20 crore. Usually on Sundays, the business
of any films picks up. And since "Finding Fanny" has a positive buzz
the third day business is expected to do better than Saturday.
The second release of 12 September,
"Creature 3D". If Deepika Padukone’s English language quirky drama
has appealed to niche audience, Bipasha’s scary film did not have too many
takers either, didn't show any improvement.
Bipasha Basu starrer earned 3.64
crore on second day at the domestic box office, taking its net total to 6.88
crore (Opening Day is 3.24 crore).
The film remained steady on second
day because of single screen contribution. At multiplexes, the film faced
competition from "Finding Fanny".
Vikram Bhatt directorial film is not
expected to show any growth on Sunday as well due to negative reviews. The
opening weekend collection of this film would be average, while "Finding
Fanny" would come out as a winner.
The box
office business of “Creature 3D” indicates that it has not succeeded in its
endeavour of scaring people.
Also starring Imran Abbas, Vikram
Bhatt’s directorial has not received encouraging feedback. “The genre and 3D
aspects are interesting, but the subject is not strong,” said Thadani.
Film critic Anupama Chopra also tweeted: “This
creature should have demanded a better script.”
